Hitting the Road with Comics In Action
Now that the frivolity of Riff Raff Theater’s presentation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show has drawn to a close, I will once again be “improving” my way to The Bohemian Cafe & Pub to join Comics In Action in their show November 14th at 8pm.
If you are not familiar with The Bohemian, they are located in the Czech Village area of Cedar Rapids, IA. It’s a great place with great food. How do I know? Look at me. I’m a husky guy with an appetite for great cuisine. I’d never lie to you… 
Is that Todd I hear in “Darkest of Days?”
Yeah, I forgot to mention that if you play the 8monkey Labs PC / XBox 360 first-person shooter Darkest of Days, you’ll be hearing my voice every once in a while.
PhantomEFX hired me to do some voices for the game and it was a REAL treat to work with those guys. The demo was released back in August, but the game itself was released…like…yesterday.
That was a lot of fun.
Riff Raff Theater: Elektra
Riff Raff Theater Presents Elektra Friday, September 11th at 8pm at The Englert Theater in Iowa City, IA.
Imagine the movie Daredevil without Ben Affleck and a LOT more Jennifer Garner (and by a lot more, we mean two things: she’s the star this time, and she’s pregnant in several scenes). Throw in a bazillion ninjas that go “poof” when you kill them and you have enough cannon fodder for the next subject our madness.
This show will comprised of Dave “Danuuc” Atwater, and two of Comics In Action’s improv comedians, Dennis Lambing and Brian Tanner. Of course, I’ll be there, but I will be in the balcony providing my BOOMING “Announcer Voice.” Don’t worry, we’ll be shouting plenty of jokes at the screen to ease your pain.
Get Me Laughing
As most of you probably know, I am not one that is much on self promotion, but please take a few minutes the next time you are surfing the web to check out www.getmelaughing.com this is a personalized parody greeting project that I am involved in and I am very excited about.
It is a mix of JibJab and Blue Mountain with a big helping of voice impersonations performed by moi. Very funny stuff!
Riff Raff Theater: Alien vs. Predator
Without the likes of Sigourney Weaver or Arnold Schwarzenegger, this vehicle has absolutely nowhere to go.
Todd Gutknecht, Chris Hanel and Danuuc will once again get together as Riff Raff Theater and rip the proverbial pants off a movie that single-handedly destroyed two sci-fi movie classics (Alien and Predator). For those not paying attention: It’s where they got the title from.
Come on down to Iowa City on May 8th at the Englert Theatre for a show that will everyone will most certainly enjoy.
